2021 ALABAMA BOYS STATE COVID-19 ANNOUNCEMENT

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT REGARDING THE 84TH ALABAMA BOYS STATE:

The American Legion Alabama Boys State program is committed to providing a healthy and safe experience for our participating students, our volunteer staff, and the University of Alabama community.  All students and staff are guests on campus, and therefore must strictly adhere to the University’s Health and Safety Guidelines.  The intent of these guidelines is to mitigate health and safety risks associated with COVID-19 to protect all members of the campus and surrounding communities.  As these guidelines are updated, American Legion Alabama Boys State staff will work with the University to ensure the safety of all participants and the University of Alabama community.

In order to comply with University’s policy regarding building capacities, parents will not be permitted inside buildings being used for Boys State programming.  This policy includes dorms, general session, opening ceremony, and graduation. Most general sessions will be either live streamed or published after the event on the official Alabama Boys State social media platforms. In addition, Boys State staff and the University are working to coordinate delegate drop-off and pick-up in a safest and most efficient manner.
